Gods (Rulers of the Heavens)

Gods are a supernatural being, who may be thought of as holy, divine, or sacred.

They're defined as a "being with powers greater than those of ordinary humans, but who interacts with humans, positively or negatively, in ways that carry humans to new levels of consciousness beyond the grounded preoccupations of ordinary life."

They are depicted in a variety of forms, but are also frequently expressed as having a human form. Gods are often thought to be immortal, and are commonly assumed to have personalities and to possess consciousness, intellects, desires, and emotions comparable but usually superior to those of humans. A male is a god, while a female is a goddess.

Historically, natural phenomena whose causes were not well understood, such as lightning and catastrophes such as earthquakes and floods, were attributed to them. They were thought to be able to work supernatural miracles and to be the authorities and controllers of various aspects of human life (such as birth or an afterlife). Some Gods were asserted to be the directors of time and fate itself, the givers of human law and morality, the ultimate judges of human worth and behavior, or designers of the Universe, instead of being a natural result of the laws of physics.

• Algis- The Algis(singular) or Algne (plural) are the first, original Gods who are generators of life and the driving force behind production in the early cosmos/heavens.
  
  They are also the Supreme Gods who rule over all other Gods and the Gods of Creation and Life.
  
  
• Qiell- The Qiell (translated from Albanian as "Sky" or "Heaven") are Gods who reside over the Sky. While there are often multiple sky Gods, sometimes this position is reserved for a God who is conceived as reigning over others, or at least is one of the most powerful.
  
  Qiell are that of a complementary pair between Earth and Sky. The pairs are composed of a Sky father and an Earth mother or a Sky goddess and an Earth god.
  
  
• Diell- The Diell (translated from Albanian as "Sun) are Gods or Goddesses  who represents the Sun, or an aspect of it, usually by its perceived power and strength and are often followed by Zjarr.
  
  
• Kuu- The Kuu (translated from Estonian as "Moon") are Gods or Goddesses associated with or symbolizing the moon and are an enemy of the Diell. They are often followed by Vesi.
  
  Kuu can be either male or female, and are usually held to be of the opposite sex of the corresponding Diell.
  
  
• Protogenoi- Protogenoi (protos meaning "first," and genos "born") are those born of the immortals, who formed the very fabric of the universe.
  
  They are, for the most part, purely elemental beings.
  
  
• Zjarr- The Zjarr (translated from Albanian as "Fire" or "Flames") are the Gods ruled by the Diell. Zjarr are Gods who rule over Fire and Flames. These Gods are often associated with Hell, however they're not just Gods who reside in Hell. These Gods can also reside in the Cosmos/Heaven.
  
  The only way to distinguish between where they reside is by their looks.
  
  Cosmic/Heavenly Zjarr are usually of light aspects. They are often classified as having light colored hair (blond being a norm), and are often known to wear white. They are usually gentle and kind in nature. They're not known to fight, but instead be helpful and attentive to others.
  
  Hell Zjarr are usually known to be of dark aspects. They usually have dark hair, wear black, and have a dark aura. They are also classified by their personalities. Hell Zjarr are usually cruel and often rude and lewd. They have no hesitations when it comes to killing and violence. Some Hell Zjarr are even seen in the company of Abominations (See Demon Guide ).
  
  
• Kõu- The Kõu (translated from Estonian as "thunder") are the personification or source of the forces of thunder and lightning.
  
  A lightning God does not have a typical depiction, and will vary based on the culture.
  
  
• Vesi- The Vesi (singular) or Vee (plural) (translated from Estonian as "water", "aquatic" or "hydrous")  are Gods associated with water or various bodies of water. Vesi are common in mythology and were usually more important among civilizations in which the sea or ocean, or a great river was more important.
  
  
• Tuul- The Tuul (translated from Estonian as "wind", "breeze" or "gale") are Gods who reside over the wind or control the wind.
  
  
• Muld- The Muld (translated from Estonian as "soil", "earth", "ground" or "mold") are the Gods and Goddesses or personification of Earth or nature. They can control the earth or soil.
  
  
• Sen-yaku- Sen-yaku (戦 役 translated from Japanese as "war officer" or "war official") are the Gods or Goddesses associated with war, combat or bloodshed.
  
  Unlike most Gods and Goddesses, Sen-yaku have traditionally been portrayed in their mythologies as commanding war in order to spread their religion. However, this isn't true. Sen-yaku are actually the Gods and Goddesses who reside over the war of other beings and are said to have been the beings who first gave birth to the concept of war to begin with.
  
  These beings are the "Commanders" of all war and regulate the times and types of war and who become natural enemies in life. They often are paired with the Dashuri.
  
  
• Anord (translated from the Irish term for "Chaos")-  Gods of Destruction/Chaos are beings whose main purpose for existing is to destroy anything and everything, bring about chaos, or destroy worlds as opposed to the Algis who are the Gods of Creation who create and fill planets with life, in order to maintain the balance of the universe.
  
  Anordians are often known to work hand in hand with the Sen-yaku to bring about wars in which they can run rampant and feed their innate desire for mass destruction and chaos.
  
  
• Groll (translated from German meaning "Resentment" or "anger"- Groll are the gods of rage and anger. These gods are the assistants to the Anordians and the Sen-yaku as well as a major catalyst to the Psychopomps. They assist in starting wars, enticing people to be morally corrupt and swaying people away from their feelings of kindness and affection. The Groll are responsible for malice and acts of aggression.
  
  
• Dashuri- Dashuri (translated from the Albanian term dëshirë as "Love", "affection", "wish" or "craving") or are the Gods associated with sexual love, lust or sexuality.
  
  
• Sigivus- Sigivus (translated from Estonian as "Fertility") are the Gods or Goddess in mythology associated with fertility, pregnancy, and birth. In some cases these Gods are directly associated with sex, and in others they simply embody related attributes.
  
  
• Psychopomps-  Psychopomps are deities of the underworld, or resurrection deities. Often, they''re simply called death deities. The term colloquially refers to deities that either collect or rule over the dead, rather than those deities who determine the time of death.
  
  
• Demigod- A demigod (or demi-god) is a divine or supernatural being in classical mythology. The term has been used in various ways at different times and can refer to a figure who has attained divine status after death, a minor deity, or a mortal who is the offspring of a god and a human.
  
  
• Avatar- An avatar is a God who deliberately descended to Earth and is mostly translated into English as "incarnation", but more accurately as "appearance" or "manifestation".
  
  The phenomenon of an avatar (descent of God in human and other forms) is very rare and is considered to only happen once every few million years.
  
  
• Nymph- A nymph (Greek: νύμφη, nymphē) is a minor female nature God typically associated with a particular location or landform. There are 5 different types of nymphs, Celestial Nymphs, Water Nymphs, Land Nymphs, Plant Nymphs and Underworld Nymphs. Different from goddesses, nymphs are generally regarded as divine spirits who animate nature, and are usually depicted as beautiful, young nubile maidens who love to dance and sing.
  
  They are believed to dwell in mountains and groves, by springs and rivers, and also in trees and in valleys and cool grottoes. Although they would never die of old age nor illness, and could give birth to fully immortal children if mated to a god, they themselves were not necessarily immortal, and could be beholden to death in various forms.
  
  Other nymphs, always in the shape of young maidens, were part of the retinue of a god, or a goddess. They are frequently associated with the superior Gods.
  
  
• Deva- A Deva is one of many different types of non-human beings who share the characteristics of being more powerful, longer-lived, and, in general, living more contentedly than the average human being.
  
  
• Powers: From a human perspective, Devas share the characteristic of being invisible to the physical human eye. The presence of a Deva can be detected by those humans who have an extrasensory power by which one can see beings from other planes. Their voices can also be heard by those who have cultivated divyaśrotra, a similar power of the ear.
  
  Most Devas are also capable of constructing illusory forms by which they can manifest themselves to the beings of lower worlds; higher and lower Devas even have to do this between each other.
  Devas do not require the same kind of sustenance as humans do, although the lower kinds do eat and drink. The higher sorts of Deva shine with their own intrinsic luminosity.
  
  Devas are also capable of moving great distances speedily and of flying through the air, although the lower Devas sometimes accomplish this through magical aids such as a flying chariot.
  

Generally, Gods or divine beings are born from a cosmic event (the fall or rise of a God, Goddess or Angel or disaster among the Gods, Goddesses or Angels) or when two already existing Gods and Goddesses pair up and mate. No one really knows how the first process can create a being, but it has been known to happen and obviously had to have happened in order to create the first Algne.

However, Gods and Goddesses have also been known to deify another being through the process of Apotheosis (from Greek ἀποθέωσις from ἀποθεοῦν, apotheoun "to deify"; in Latin deificatio "making divine"), divinization, or deification.

The elevation of a figure to a divine level entails certain conventions such as either an 'adoption' or the completion of a divine task or even by simply being loved or respected by multiple Gods or Goddesses.
